Comiket 73 (Winter) 2007!
January 1, 2008 by Firedauz

It was just pure awesome at the Comiket 73 (Winter) event on the final 3-days of 2007! It was held at the Tokyo Big Sight area of Odaiba on December 29, 30 and 31 2007. As usual, there will be 1/2 a million (or maybe more!) attendees turned up for all dates! Since there are quite alot of stuff to do there, the event is split up into 2 areas; one is for the doujinshi hall, and the other is for the cosplay area and commercial hall. Due to that, there were many long queues if one were to get anywhere in there, especially at popular doujinshi groups and commercial studios booths, such as Key, Kyo-ani and Type-Moon. But trust me, it was indeed worth all the queuing once you get your hands on the goodies! ^__^
Comiket (コミケット Komiketto), otherwise known as the Comic Market (コミックマーケット Komikku Māketto?) or CM, is the world’s largest comic convention, held twice a year here in Tokyo, Japan. The first CM was held in December 1975, with only about 30 participating circles and an estimated 700 attendees. Attendance has since swelled to over half a million people. The convention lasts for three days. It is a grassroots, DIY effort for selling doujinshi, self-published Japanese works. As items sold in CM are considered very rare (because dōjinshi are seldom reprinted), some items sold at CM can be found in shops or on the Internet at prices up to 10 times the item’s original price.
