3 Men Arrested for Uploading Animes

As if illegally transmitting copyrighted anime materials are not enough, some even went overboard to place virus on those materials before uploading it for unsuspecting leechers! That was the case of what went down in Japan last Thursday when the Kyoto Prefectural Police’s High-Tech Crime Task Force and officers from five police stations arrested three men on charges of uploading anime episodes and images to the Winny file-sharing network, as announced by the Japan’s Association of Copyright for Computer Software (ACCS). The authorities reported that the acts violated Japan’s Copyright Law, which prohibits the unauthorized transmission of copyrighted material. 2 of them had been charged for uploading Sunrise’s Idolmaster Xenoglossia and Mobile Suit Gundam 00 television animes, while the 3rd person was charged for putting his self-created virus into still images of Clanned television animes before distributing them on Winny.
