Washimiya Monogatari Screened in Japan

The movie Washimiya Monogatari, which parodies and pokes fun at the town of Washimiya that was made famous due to the anime Lucky Star, was finally screened at special events around Japan
Directed by Nobuta wo Produce director Keiichi Kitagawa, the movie was based on another parody short that pokes fun on the sudden tourist boom the town experienced due to Lucky Star. It tells the story of a film director who came back to his hometown of Washimiya to find idea for his next story, only to find out that it’s overrun by anime otakus. Scenes includes the now infamous Washinomiya shrine where the Hiiragi sisters had lived.
The film stars Toru Kamitsuru, and former AKB48 idols Yuka Masuda and Ayumi Orii.
