Meet PHIL YEH, one of America’s first graphic novelists and the Godfather of American Graphic Novels, and PHIL ORTIZ, an Emmy-winning animator and artist most notable for his work on a number of quality animations such as The Simpsons, Muppet Babies, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Garfield and many more.

Phil Yeh created one of the first American graphic novels in 1977 which led him to be known as the Godfather of the American Graphic Novel. Yeh has written and illustrated over 80 books for the past 15 years. His well-known works include Dinosaurs across America (named by the School Library Journal as one of the best) and the bestselling The Winged Tiger and the Lace Princess.

He is the founder of Cartoonists across America and the World. The organization, established in 1985, seeks to promote literacy, creativity, the arts and other positive issues. For 25 years they have spread their influence by creating classic books, painting murals, speaking at schools, conventions, conferences and other public events around the world. Phil Yeh will be sharing his vast experience in the creative world with the audience of Comic Fiesta 2010′s Industry Seminar.

Phil Ortiz is an Emmy-winning animator and artist notable for his work on a number of quality animations such as The Simpsons, Muppet Babies, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Garfield and many more. With 30 years of experience in the industry, Phil Ortiz has worked on a great number of works ranging from daily newspaper comics to animated cartoons. Among the companies that have made use of his skill include Disney, Warner Bros., Ruby Spears Production and Hanna Barbera. In his career, he has won a total of 5 Emmy Awards for his work on TV animation.

In Comic Fiesta 2010, Phil Ortiz will be talking about his experience in the industry, and lucky attendees might just be able to catch him “Simpsons-izing” the people of the event!
