Would you pay USD10,000 to spend a day with Production IG’s president as well as Mamoru Ishii and Masaaki Yuasa? That is what Production IG is offering if you are willing to pledge that much in their kickstarter project, Kick Heart.


Directed by Masaaki Yuasa (not in the picture), Kick Heart is a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet, with a twist involving wrestling, nuns, and good ol’ animation. It will be 10 minutes in length and the people involved are hoping that they could get USD150,000 pledges by the end of October.

The shift from traditional Japanese business of getting investors with a western way of getting money directly from the target market is due to investors shying away from projects that is deemed “too risky” and due to the recent economic problems worldwide.
